Gitanjali Law Firm is a law firm in Pokhara, at Mustang Chowk, Pokhara-7, led by Advocate Gita Acharya — an advocate with over 20 years of practice and Nepal Bar Council registration 9058. The firm acts for individuals, families and businesses across Pokhara, the wider Kaski district and all of Gandaki Province, filing at Kaski District Court and appearing on appeal at High Court Pokhara.
The practice covers seven areas: divorce and family law, property and land disputes, partition (अंश) and inheritance, criminal defence and bail, civil litigation and recovery, company registration and corporate work, and power of attorney and documentation for Nepalis living abroad. Advocate Acharya is a woman advocate and takes family and women's rights consultations personally.
A first consultation is used to establish the basics: which court or office decides the matter, what the governing law is, which documents it turns on, and what the realistic range of outcomes is — including the losing scenario.

About the firm
Two decades of legal practice in Pokhara
The firm has practised in Pokhara long enough that today's matters often involve the second generation of a family whose land or marriage case it handled the first time. Staying in one district has professional value: knowing how Kaski District Court runs its calendar, how the Land Revenue and Survey offices treat older records, and which disputes in this valley settle and which do not.
Work ranges from everyday documentation — land verification, registration, notices, company filings — to contested litigation over property, partition, family matters and criminal charges. Where mediation serves you better than a judgement, we say so.

Where is Gitanjali Law Firm located in Pokhara?
At Mustang Chowk, Pokhara-7, Kaski, Gandaki Province, Nepal — central Pokhara, close to the courts and government offices most matters involve. Phone and WhatsApp: +977 9856032228. Directions are on the contact page.
Who is the advocate at Gitanjali Law Firm?
Advocate Gita Acharya, the firm's founder, registered with the Nepal Bar Council under number 9058, with over 20 years of practice in Pokhara. She takes consultations personally and appears before Kaski District Court, High Court Pokhara and the Supreme Court of Nepal.
What are your office hours?
Sunday to Thursday 10:00–17:00 and Friday 10:00–15:00; the office is closed on Saturday. Because court hearings occupy part of most working days, call or WhatsApp +977 9856032228 first so the advocate is in chambers when you arrive. Urgent matters — an arrest, a bail hearing, an imminent land transfer — are dealt with as they arise.
Which court hears cases from Pokhara?
Kaski District Court hears first-instance civil and criminal cases from Pokhara and the rest of Kaski district. Appeals, writ petitions and challenges to bail or custody decisions go to High Court Pokhara, which serves all eleven districts of Gandaki Province. Final appeals go to the Supreme Court of Nepal in Kathmandu.
Can you handle my case if I live abroad?
Yes. With an authorised power of attorney (अधिकृत वारेसनामा) executed and attested at the Nepali embassy or consulate in your country, we can file or defend a case, appear at hearings, register a land transfer, or apply to freeze a plot at risk. Clients instruct us this way from the Gulf, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Australia, Europe and North America, with updates by WhatsApp.
How long does a case take in Nepal?
It depends on the type of case and whether it is contested. Uncontested administrative work — a registration, a transfer where all parties cooperate — is a matter of days or weeks. A mutual-consent divorce is measured in court appearances rather than months. Contested litigation over land, partition or a criminal charge is realistically measured in months, sometimes longer, depending on evidence and the court's calendar. We give you a range based on your documents rather than a promise.
Is my consultation confidential?
Yes. Everything you tell your advocate is confidential and protected by professional duty. Nothing is filed and no family member is contacted without your instruction — which matters in divorce, domestic violence and partition matters, where the other side is usually a relative.
What documents should I bring to a first consultation?
Your citizenship certificate; any court, police or government notice you have received; land ownership certificate (लालपुर्जा) and tax receipt for property matters; marriage, birth and relationship certificates for family matters; agreements, receipts, cheques and bank records for money disputes; and a short written timeline of what happened in date order. Come even if something is missing — deadlines do not wait for paperwork.
